These are the original pedals for the Fatfish OG 2.0 ebike. They are exactly the same pedals as the ones attached to your ebike when you buy it. You don't need to buy these pedals or shop for any Fatfish OG 2.0 parts at the time of purchasing the bike because everything is included with the new ebike. The only people who should buy parts for the Fatfish OG 2.0 are those looking to replace the existing parts of their e-bike or who have purchased a second-hand Fatfish OG 2.0 and are trying to return it to a good-as-new state.

What is the difference between pedals and footpegs on an ebike?

If you are new to bicycles or electric bikes, it can be confusing to understand the difference between pedals and foot pegs. While they may look similar at a glance, they serve very different purposes.

On the Fatfish OG 2.0, the pedals are located directly in front of the rider and are used to move the bike forward. Pedals are attached to a crankset, which includes the rotating arms and internal components that connect to the ebike chain. When you pedal, this system works together to rotate the wheels and help propel the bike forward, either on its own or with electric assistance.

To pedal an ebike, you need more than just the pedals themselves. The pedals work alongside the crank set, chain, rear wheel, and the electric assist system, all of which combine to turn your effort into forward motion. This is what allows the Fatfish OG 2.0 to function as a pedal assist ebike rather than a throttle only vehicle.

Foot pegs on the Fatfish OG 2.0 serve a completely different role. They are designed for the pillion rider and are mounted on the rear section of the frame. Foot pegs provide a stable and comfortable place for a passenger to rest their feet while riding, but they do not contribute to powering the bike in any way. For a pedal assist bike i.e. an electric bike not an electric motorbike, pedals are a very important component.

Unlike pedals, foot pegs are not connected to the crank set, chain, or electrical system. They are fixed or adjustable components that are bolted onto the frame and exist purely for passenger comfort and safety.

Foot pegs cannot be used to replace the pedals on the your Fatfish OG 2.0. Please do not try this, it will make your ebike unsafe to ride and potentially illegal as its nature changes from being a pedal assist ebike to one that is able to propel forward without the rider's assistance.
