Electric Bike Chargers

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to charge an ebike?

The charging time for an e-bike depends on the battery size and the model. In general, most ebikes take between 8-10 hours to fully charge. For the most accurate details, always check your ebike’s user manual.

To protect the battery, a Fatfish ebike should not be charged for more than 10 hours.

Smartmotion e-bikes: The battery should not be charged longer than the maximum of 10 hours.

To extend battery life, unplug your e-bike once it is fully charged and avoid leaving it connected to the charger overnight.

Can I charge my ebike with a different charger?

It is generally not recommended to charge your e-bike with a different charger. Each e-bike battery is designed to work with a specific charger, and using the wrong one can cause battery damage, reduced performance, or even safety risks such as overheating, fire, or explosion.

Most e-bike manufacturers state that you should only use the certified charger supplied with your e-bike. Using an uncertified or incompatible charger may also void your warranty. For the safest and most efficient charging, always use the original charger designed for your e-bike battery.
